Amy's Kids is a proud supporter of the Single Moms program ran by Caris International, where orphan mothers are trained on sewing machines.
Every January, at the start of the school year, these talented seamstresses go out to Faraha Sana and measure each student for a uniform.
The girls get a shirt and skirt, while the boys get a shirt and shorts, and this school uniform might be the only piece of clothing that they have.
The uniforms for the first set of children at Furaha Sana generated enough income for three single moms to purchase their own sewing machines.
On the day the uniforms are handed out each student is called by name and presented with their very own uniform. It's truly an emotional experience,
as this is the first piece of anythign these kids get to call their own. Priceless. If you’d like to learn more about the Caris Foundation visit
