One of the main goals of Amy's Kids Foundation is to give children, who wouldn't otherwise have the chance, a head start at learning. We accept children starting at 3-years-old and keep them until they can successfully go into the Primary education system, which is equivalent to our 1st or 2nd grade in the United States. This is Sophia. She started at Furaha Sana the very first year, when she was just 4-years-old. At the time, we didn't even have a building for the kids. Along with the other students, she sat under the big Mugandini tree and did her homework. Sophia is now 9-years-old and doing an amazing job in her Primary School. She excels above the other students because of the advanced learning she received at Furaha Sana. She came to the school when I was there this trip. She actually skipped school because she heard I was there and she wanted to bring me a card. We had a great day together. Sophia is growing up so fast, and is such a polite, smart girl. She really is the poster child for Amy's Kids.
